Prof. Peter Lund is the Chair of EASAC's Energy Programme. He is Professor (Engineering Physics/Advanced Energy Systems) at Aalto University (formerly Helsinki University of Technology) and has worked with energy issues, energy efficiency, new and renewable energy technologies since 1980. His present academic interests covers global energy issues and future solutions, but also advanced technologies such as sustainable buildings and communities, solar energy, fuel cells, hydrogen and nanotechnology for energy applications.

He has acted as an advisor to the European Commission in several different roles, has coordinated Finnish R&D activities in new energy technologies, and acted as consultant on energy issues to industry, governments, and international bodies. He is Editor-in-Chief for Interdisciplinary Reviews: Energy and Environment and Editor of International Journal of Energy Research.
